Tzuyang, a popular Korean YouTuber with over 10 million subscribers known for her mukbang content, has responded to recent accusations of abandoning her pet cats.
On August 24 KST, she uploaded a video titled “Final Clarification Video” to her YouTube channel, addressing growing speculation after her cats, once featured in her vlogs, had not appeared in recent videos. “I understand how it could come across that way,” she said, “but the cats are currently living at my parents’ home.”
Tzuyang explained that she had temporarily left the cats with her parents while traveling, and they quickly grew attached. “My mom got emotionally attached and basically took them,” she said with a smile. “The cats love basking in the sun, and my parents’ house gets a lot of sunlight. I felt bad taking them away.”
She further shared that her parents now care for two dogs and two cats, and all the pets are doing well together. Responding to a comment that asked why she still raises a dog while the cats are gone, she acknowledged, “That made me realize how it could really look like I abandoned them.”
Tzuyang emphasized that her decision was not out of neglect but rather consideration for the cats’ comfort and well-being, especially since she travels frequently for work. “I spend almost all day at home with my dog,” she added. “I thought bringing the cats back just to satisfy my own feelings might be selfish.”
This marks the latest example of a public figure responding to animal care scrutiny online, as fans and viewers become increasingly attentive to influencer lifestyles.
