Authorities have confirmed that a South Korean actor in his 40s, who has appeared in multiple films and television dramas, was investigated by police last month for allegedly assaulting his wife at their home.
According to police on August 14, the incident occurred on July 24 at the actor’s residence in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province. A report was filed to the emergency hotline, alleging that the actor, identified only as 'A,' assaulted his wife 'B' during an argument.
Sources say the altercation began as a verbal dispute, during which the actor attempted to leave the house. When his wife tried to block him, a physical struggle reportedly ensued.
Police questioned the actor on suspicion of assault, but the case was categorized as a domestic protection case rather than a criminal matter, as his wife expressed that she did not wish to pursue legal charges.
The actor is known for his supporting roles in various productions, including a domestic box-office hit that drew over 10 million viewers.
A police official stated, “It is true that we responded to a domestic violence report and took appropriate measures. However, as this is a domestic protection case, we cannot disclose further details.”
