Koyote's Shinji and Bbaekga are set to make an appearance on a live radio show. This marks Shinji's first live broadcast appearance following the controversy surrounding her fiancé, singer Moon Won. In particular, fellow Bbaekga was present during the meeting with Moon Won, when the singer revealed his past to the members, raising expectations that they may address the incident.
Shin Ji and Bbaekga will appear together on KBS Cool FM’s 'Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show' on July 9, specifically in the 'Bold Statements' segment. The segment typically features DJ Park Myung Soo and guests offering their honest opinions on listeners’ stories. While Bbaekga and singer Lee Hyun have been the regular guests, Shinji will be stepping in for this special broadcast.
Shinji’s participation has garnered particular attention due to the various controversies involving her fiancé, Moon Won. The couple reportedly met through the radio program Shinji hosted, and their relationship blossomed into a romance that eventually led to a wedding announcement planned for next year. News of their marriage broke after behind-the-scenes photos of their wedding shoot were revealed, which was later confirmed by Shinji’s agency.
Unlike the usual wedding process, where couples typically book the venue before their photo shoot, Shinji and Moon Won reportedly scheduled their shoot first due to conflicting commitments, including Koyote’s comeback, Shinji’s solo projects, and an upcoming nationwide tour.
However, things took a turn when a video documenting their meeting with the Koyote members was posted on YouTube, sparking controversy. In the video, Moon Won revealed that he had been previously married and that his ex-wife is currently raising their daughter. This revelation came as a surprise to Koyote members Kim Jong Min and Bbaekga, with Bbaekga even walking out of the room in visible shock.
Moon Won, in particular, received backlash when he revealed in the video that he did not disclose his past to Shinji initially and only decided to reveal that he was a divorcee with a daughter, only after their relationship became serious. Additionally, fans were baffled when Moon Won claimed he was unaware that Shinji was famous.
Following the video’s release, speculation around Moon Won’s past began to spread. Beyond his divorce, rumors surfaced about alleged violence during his military service and accusations of being a school bully.
On July 3, Moon Won took to social media to address the growing controversy. He denied most of the allegations, but issued an apology, saying, “I sincerely apologize to Shin Ji, who should be receiving congratulations, for causing her pain.” He also added, “I reflect on the misunderstandings caused by my careless words and actions, and I promise to move forward with greater responsibility alongside Shin Ji.”
With both Shinji and Bbaekga being central figures in the family meeting video, and as this marks their first live appearance since the controversy, all eyes are on what they will say during the broadcast. Fans and listeners alike are eagerly awaiting any response or clarification from the duo.
