Seventeen's Seungkwan has contributed his talent to a public service campaign.
On July 17, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province released a promotional video for its “Promise with Jeju” campaign on YouTube. Starting July 18, the campaign will air nationwide on television, radio, and be displayed on outdoor billboards in Jeju and Seoul.
Seungkwan, a native of Jeju, took part in the project to promote his hometown. A representative shared, “Despite his busy schedule, Seungkwan made time to participate. His bright energy added vibrancy to the beautiful scenery of Jeju.”
The campaign was created to spread awareness about the value of responsible travel and to promote a culture of sustainable tourism in Jeju. Known for his deep affection for his hometown, Seungkwan conveyed that love through his involvement.

He also shared his thoughts on the experience, saying, “I’m grateful and honored to help share the true beauty and value of Jeju with the world.”
He ended with words of support for the initiative, stating, “I will always support Jeju in its journey toward becoming a city where nature and tourism coexist in harmony.” His message radiated his signature positive energy.
Seungkwan has been actively involved in various charitable efforts.
Last month, he donated 20 million KRW (~14,470 USD) to the Cultural Heritage Administration and the National Trust for Cultural Heritage to help preserve Jeju’s cultural assets.
In November 2023, upon being appointed as a Jeju promotional ambassador, he also made a donation through the Jeju Provincial Office as part of the Hometown Love Donation Program, contributing significantly to the protection of the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin, a species classified as internationally endangered.
During the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in 2023, Seungkwan drew attention for highlighting that Jeju is the first region in the world to be simultaneously designated by UNESCO in three natural environment categories.
Seventeen also made history as the first K-pop artist to be given an exclusive special session at the forum. Last year, they were appointed as UNESCO’s first-ever Youth Goodwill Ambassadors, continuing to take the lead in social contribution activities.
