Actor Byeon Woo Seok, one of Korea’s most talked about rising stars, will be appearing as a presenter at the 2025 K World Dream Awards, the nation’s largest Kpop festival that celebrates the global reach of Korean pop culture.
On July 29, the organizing committee officially announced Byeon’s participation, stating that the actor will be joining the event as a presenter, drawing excitement from fans eager to see him back on stage.
Byeon Woo Seok first entered the entertainment industry as a model in 2010 before making his acting debut in the 2016 tvN drama 'Dear My Friends'. He has since built a strong filmography with notable roles in dramas like 'Record of Youth', 'Moonshine', and films such as '20th Century Girl' and 'Soulmate'.
His breakout came last year with the hit drama 'Lovely Runner', which was hailed as his “career defining role,” solidifying his status as a leading star. He has since been cast in two highly anticipated projects — Netflix’s new original series 'Solo Leveling' and MBC’s upcoming historical drama 'The Queen of the 21st Century'.
Amid ongoing shoots for both projects, Byeon’s return to the public eye through this awards ceremony has been met with much fanfare.
The 2025 K World Dream Awards originated in 2017 as the Soribada Best K Music Awards and has grown into one of Korea’s largest annual Kpop events, held in Seoul — the heart of Korean cultural influence. The show gathers top Kpop artists and celebrities to celebrate the genre’s global success with dynamic performances and special moments.
So far, the event has confirmed the participation of major artists and groups including BTOB, Stray Kids, TXT (Tomorrow X Together), Cravity, IVE, Le Sserafim, tripleS, Young Posse, Fifty Fifty, NCT Wish, ILLIT, Kickflip, Hearts2Hearts, Kiki, New Beat, and Ahop.
Bands like LUCY, Xdinary Heroes, QWER, and Dragon Pony will also hit the stage, along with solo singers Park Seojin, Park Jihyun, Paul Kim, and Kang Daniel — amplifying expectations among global Kpop fans.
Meanwhile, the fan voted Popularity Awards are currently underway on the global fandom platform Duckad app, with four categories (male group, female group, male soloist, female soloist) determined entirely by international fans’ votes. The final round of voting will close on August 11, with the top 30 finalists now revealed.
For fans unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live via Japan’s U NEXT platform and globally (excluding Japan) on HelloLive.
The 2025 K World Dream Awards is scheduled to take place on August 21 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa gu, Seoul. The event is hosted by the awards committee and organized by leading Hallyu agency YJ Partners.
