BLACKPINK has caused a sensation in the Kpop industry after releasing their digital single, “JUMP”, having unprecedented success on the most popular music platforms, including Spotify. All this has been achieved without any promotion from YG Entertainment so far.
Thanks to its strong streaming stability, "JUMP" rose to No. 1 on Spotify Global just the day after its release, marking BLACKPINK's third song to do so, as the group previously topped the same chart with "Pink Venom" and "Shut Down," the title tracks from their 2022 full-length album, "Born Pink."
This milestone made BLACKPINK the K-Pop Group with the Most #1 hits on Spotify's Global Chart, surpassing the mega-popular BTS, who have had two #1 songs on this important chart to date, with "Dynamite" and "Take Two" being responsible for this.
At the same time, thanks to the #1s awarded by "JUMP", "Pink Venom" and "Shut Down", BLACKPINK tied with Rihanna, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter as the "4th Female Artists With the Most #1 Songs on the Global Spotify Chart in the History", only behind Billie Eilish (6 songs), Ariana Grande (8 songs) and Taylor Swift (12 songs).
Without losing stability and increasing streams, BLACKPINK has managed to stay at #1 on the Spotify Global Chart for the fifth consecutive day with 6.579 Million streams, positioning itself as the Second Longest-running #1 single by a K-pop Group surpassing their own “Pink Venom” and only behind also their own song "Shut Down" (6 days at the top of Spotify Global).
To the delight of fans, BLACKPINK now holds the throne as the First Group in history to have three different songs spend multiple days at #1 on the Global Spotify Chart.
