T-ara's Hyomin shared with viewers how she and her husband first met, how he proposed, and what their daily life together is like.
The May 31st episode of MBC variety show 'Omniscient Interfering View' featured a glimpse into Hyomin’s daily life, following her marriage this April. In addition to an update on their newlywed home, which is still under renovation, Hyomin discussed their honeymoon: "We went to Hawaii for about a month and a half," and shared the story of how she met her husband, who is known as a wealthy Seoul National University graduate.
Recalling their first meeting, Hyomin said, "It was a friend’s birthday. They rented out a restaurant and invited us. At first, I didn’t know what my husband’s job was, but his appearance was just my type. I thought he looked cool, and we happened to sit next to each other, so we naturally started talking." She added that her husband told her, "You didn’t seem like a celebrity at all. I felt like I’d known you already."
When asked if it was love at first sight, she replied, "That's how we talk about it to each other," bringing smiles all around. She clarified, however, that her husband wasn’t originally a fan of T-ara. "I asked him later on, and it turns out he really liked the Fin.K.L unnies. When he was in his prime, it was all about Fin.K.L," she said.
She also shared how he proposed. "It had been about a year since we started dating. We were watching TV, and he suddenly brought up April 6 and April 13. Then he just said, ‘I already booked the venue,’" Hyomin recounted, surprising everyone with his bold proposal.
Now working independently without an agency for the past 3 to 4 years, Hyomin has shown herself to be highly capable and self-sufficient. After checking her packed schedule first thing in the morning, she made herself breakfast. Using leftover crab soy sauce, she quickly put together a buckwheat noodle dish. When asked if she had made it for her husband before, she proudly said yes, adding, "He loves noodles, so he really liked it."
Right after the meal, Hyomin began studying finance by watching a video titled 'Wealth Strategy Class.' The MCs were surprised and asked if she was studying despite her busy schedule. Hyomin explained, "Since my husband works in finance, I felt like I shouldn’t be completely clueless about it," earning praise for her thoughtful support.
After doing her own hair and makeup, Hyomin headed out and made a quick stop to look at furniture during her schedule. She was personally consulting to find furniture that would suit the long and unique layout of her home.
Later, while on the move, Hyomin received a call from her husband. She answered sweetly, saying, "I just finished looking at furniture. You know how we said both the stainless steel and stone dining tables were nice? Which one do you think is better right now?" Her affectionate tone and the conversation gave off a warm, newlywed vibe.
At the end of the segment, Hyomin was given a chance to send a message to her husband. She said, "I’ve already planned out our life, so just trust me and follow along," expressing her steady and sincere love.
Meanwhile, on April 6, Hyomin held a private wedding at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, with a non-celebrity groom who works in the finance industry. According to Financial News, Hyomin’s husband graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University and is a key figure at a global private equity firm (PEF). He is reportedly 10 years older than Hyomin.
