On June 11th, DongHang Lottery announced that the first-place winner of the '61st Spito 2000 lottery' was drawn from a lottery retailer in Wonju, Gangwon Province. The prize money for this jackpot reaches an astonishing 2 billion KRW (roughly $1.5 million).
The winner, who usually buys lottery tickets with small amounts weekly, shared that their spouse enjoys scratching Spito tickets and typically purchases them once or twice a month. While on a date in Wonju with his wife, the couple decided to visit a lottery shop after the thought of buying a ticket came up, where they purchased a set of Spito 2000 tickets by chance.
While waiting in the car, the wife scratched the tickets and soon discovered they had won the first prize. Surprised, she showed the winning ticket to her husband for confirmation. The couple embraced the moment, sharing joy and comforting each other over their good fortune.
Interestingly, the wife revealed that she recently dreamed of actor Byeon Woo Seok. In her dream, Byeon Woo Seok appeared with a radiant aura at a large event where a raffle was being held, calling out her name and giving her a warm embrace. The dream turning into reality made the winners grateful, and they expressed their thanks to actor Byeon Woo Seok.
The winner, a regular purchaser of both Lotto and Spito tickets, plans to use the winnings to repay loans and buy a home.
A spokesperson for DongHang Lottery said, “We hope the incredible luck of Spito 2000 continues, and we encourage all lottery participants to play responsibly and with a positive spirit.”
