The highly anticipated film 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' continues to reveal snippets of the new, fresh, and expansive universe.
On June 16, the production team behind 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' unveiled the main poster and trailer, showcasing a grand world and spectacular action sequences from its characters.
This fantasy action film begins on the day a novel serialized for over a decade comes to an end. On that very day, the fictional world of the novel becomes reality. Kim Dok Ja (played by Ahn Hyo Seop), the story’s only reader, suddenly finds himself becoming the novel’s protagonist, Yoo Jung Hyuk (played by Lee Min Ho).
The main poster features all the major characters. Kim Dok Ja and Yoo Jung Hyuk face forward with intense gazes, their extraordinary auras sparking curiosity.
Behind them, characters including Yoo Sang Ah (played by Chae Soo Bin), Lee Hyun Sung (Shin Seung Ho), Jung Hee Won (Nana), Lee Ji Hye (Jisoo), and Lee Gil Young (Kwon Eun Sung) are seen looking at a scenario window, hinting at an epic narrative.
At the bottom of the poster is the tagline: “The novel only I knew has become reality,” raising questions about how the characters will navigate these unpredictable scenarios.
The newly released trailer further builds excitement with its massive worldbuilding and gripping storyline, highlighted by impressive, large-scale CGI.
The video opens with Kim Dok Ja’s narration: “The story I loved, the one that meant everything to me, has become reality.” He gasps for breath as he realizes the world around him has changed.
On a subway train on his way home, the train suddenly stops, and a goblin-like creature named Bihyung appears and presents the characters with a “scenario.” Chaos erupts in the subway as people begin attacking one another in a desperate attempt to escape.
Kim Dok Ja is shown skillfully navigating and clearing the various stages. After all, he’s the only person who has read the novel and knows how the story ends.
Various monsters appear against backdrops of subways and city streets. The characters wield signature weapons like enchanted thread, shields, and swords to fight off the threats.
Yoo Jung Hyuk appears with a determined gaze. As the main character of the decade-long novel, he rescues Kim Dokja from danger. With a single swing of his sword, he sends a monster flying with a powerful gust.
The trailer closes with Kim Dokja’s resolute declaration: “I will rewrite the ending of this story,” hinting at a hopeful future where everyone might survive together.
Omniscient Reader: The Prophet is set to premiere on July 23.
