Kihyun of MONSTA X captivated fans with his powerful vocals and emotional stage presence at Someday Pleroma 2025, held on June 28 at KINTEX in Ilsan.
The event was the first special project to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Someday Festival. Taking the stage as a solo artist, Kihyun left a deep impression with his rich voice and polished live performance.
He opened the show with ‘Voyager’, the title track from his solo debut album, energizing the venue with vibrant band instrumentals and clear, resonant vocals. He followed up with performances of ‘Stardust’ and ‘,Comma’, showcasing both his vocal strength and stage charisma.
Adding his signature humor, Kihyun engaged actively with the crowd, checking whether any MONBEBE (the official fanclub) were present and joking, “How many songs have I sung so far? One~” Then he added playfully, “It’s always just one song. Even if I sing six, it’s still one.”
Next, he introduced songs he hadn’t performed at festivals before, saying, “This one might charm both MONBEBE and non-fans alike.” He went on to sing covers of MAX’s ‘Acid Dreams’ and Christopher’s ‘Bad’, showing off his smooth moves and expressive facial performance.
He continued with a cover of Choi Yu Ree’s ‘Forest’, delivering a tender and emotional rendition. Then he amped up the crowd with MONSTA X’s U.S. debut song ‘Someone’s Someone’, drawing a powerful sing-along from the audience. He also performed his solo track ‘Bad Liar’, co-written by fellow member Hyungwon, as well as ‘Cool Barn’, originally performed by Jung Hyung Don and Hyukoh on Infinite Challenge. These songs highlighted his wide vocal range and musical diversity.
For the final performance, he sang ‘Youth’, the title track from his first solo mini album. Before starting the song, he shared a warm message: “Everyone, don’t be too hard on yourself. Fighting!” His sincerity resonated with fans, leaving them with a lasting emotional impression.

After the show, Kihyun said through his agency Starship Entertainment, “Festival stages are always fun, but it was especially meaningful to be part of Someday Pleroma for its 10th anniversary. This year marks MONSTA X’s 10th debut anniversary as well, so I felt truly honored to share such a special moment with so many fans.” He added, “Thank you again to MONBEBE and all the audience members for your passionate support. I hope you're excited for our 10th anniversary concert in July.”
Kihyun, who debuted in 2015 as the main vocalist of MONSTA X, is widely recognized for his exceptional vocal ability, often described as one of K-pop’s top vocalists. He began his solo career with the single ‘Voyager’ in 2022 and has since built a strong presence through numerous festival performances. After recently completing his military service, he’s quickly reestablished himself as a sought-after act in the Korean music scene.
He currently appears as a fixed cast member on E Channel’s variety show ‘Ryu Nam Saeng’, which airs every Monday at 9 p.m. MONSTA X will also celebrate their 10th debut anniversary with the concert ‘2025 MONSTA X CONNECT X’, scheduled for July.
