A heartfelt reunion of beloved stars is set to unfold in a brand-new MBC variety show titled 'I'm Sunny, thank you.'
The program features Kang So Ra and her co-stars from the iconic film 'Sunny' as they embark on a journey to rediscover the meaning of their long-standing friendship through travel.
Directed by Kim Jun Hyun, 'I'm Sunny, thank you' has already generated widespread attention following news of its launch. The original film 'Sunny,' released in 2011, became a cultural sensation and attracted more than 7.45 million viewers. The cast, known as the Seven Princesses, rose to fame through the film and have maintained a cheerful and close-knit bond for over 15 years. Audiences are especially excited to see these stars reunite in a single variety show filled with laughter, nostalgia, and heartfelt moments.
The first broadcast is now officially scheduled. 'I'm Sunny, thank you' will air every Saturday at 8:40 p.m., beginning on July 5. Aiming to deliver both humor and emotional resonance, the show is set to compete in the prime-time Saturday night slot.
The newly released promotional poster features Kang So Ra, Kim Bo Mi, Kim Min Young, and Lee Eun Ji standing together in traditional clothing from an exotic location. Their bright smiles are accompanied by the caption, "Did you know? We've always been together," raising anticipation for the stories and emotions their journey will reveal.
One particular point of interest is the presence of Lee Eun Ji. While Kang So Ra, Kim Bo Mi, and Kim Min Young all starred in 'Sunny,' Lee Eun Ji did not appear in the original film. Viewers are curious about the reason behind her participation, how the other Sunny cast members will be featured, and where the beautifully depicted travel destination is located.
MBC’s 'I'm Sunny, thank you,' starring Kang So Ra and her 'Sunny' friends, premieres on Saturday, July 5 at 8:40 p.m. Viewers can look forward to a special journey filled with joy, memories, and the enduring power of friendship.
