Actress Park Bo Young has finally responded to Shin Dong Yup's request for her to appear on 'SNL Korea.'
The handprinting ceremony for the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards was broadcast live on Naver NOW's 'CHZZK' channel on the morning of June 25. In attendance were last year’s Series Awards winners: Im Si Wan (Best Actor), Park Bo Young (Best Actress), Shin Dong Yup (Best Male Entertainer), Jang Do Yeon (Best Female Entertainer), Ahn Jae Hong (Best Supporting Actor), Geum Hae Na (Best Supporting Actress), Lee Jung Ha (Best New Actor), Go Youn Jung (Best New Actress), Kwak Joon Bin (Best New Male Entertainer), and Yoon Ga Yi (Best New Female Entertainer).
Shin Dong Yup, who won for Coupang Play’s variety series 'SNL Korea,' drew laughs as he made it clear once again that he was eager to cast Park Bo Young, who was seated next to him.
Jokingly, Shin Dong Yup said to her, “Thank you, Bo Young,” to which she smiled awkwardly and replied, “I knew it would be impolite, but I just couldn’t bring myself to look at you, sunbae-nim. I’ll think about it seriously.”
In closing, Shin Dong Yup asked the press, “Please write an article saying, ‘Actress Park Bo Young to make surprise appearance on SNL.’ The timing is undecided, but she will appear someday,” trying to get her agreement. Park Bo Young, laughing, eventually nodded.
Previously, 'SNL Korea' made headlines with bold transformations by actresses like Kim Sa Rang and Moon Chae Won. The show is known for its unapologetic use of sexually suggestive comedy. Some female celebrity appearances have drawn mixed to negative reactions due to this.
Because of this, Park Bo Young, whose image is known for being pure and wholesome, to the point of endorsing bottled water, has found it challenging to readily accept the offer. While most stars tend to respond positively to variety show invitations, Park Bo Young seemed genuinely flustered, unable to look Shin Dong Yup in the eye or give him a clear answer.
Given that she was virtually cornered into agreeing on a public stage by Shin Dong Yup’s relentless request, attention now turns to whether Park Bo Young will go through with a dramatic transformation.
