Comedienne Hong Jin Kyung faces political allegation over outfit choice.
On June 2nd KST, Hong Jin Kyung drew attention after sharing a photo of herself visiting a clothing store on her social media account.
In the photo, she’s seen wearing a gray denim skirt, thigh-high leg warmers, and a red top, showing off her unique fashion sense. Her ability to pull off the look, reminiscent of her modeling days, became a topic of interest.
However, some netizens began speculating that the red top hinted at a political stance. Similar controversies previously surrounded aespa’s Karina and rapper Beenzino, who also faced backlash for wearing red clothing.
Comments from critics included: “I used to be a big fan, but this is disappointing,” “People really have two faces,” and “I watched every episode of Dorai-ver, but now I’m let down.” Some also claimed, “That T-shirt color feels way too deliberate.”
Meanwhile, others came to her defense, saying: “Don’t pay attention to them. You’ve got this,” “We support you even more,” and “This witch hunt needs to stop.”
