In a candid appearance on episode 93 of the YouTube show 'Salon Drip 2,' aired on June 3, renowned dancer Honey J revealed that she experienced symptoms resembling PTSD following her time on 'Street Woman Fighter.' The episode also featured fellow dancers Lip J and Leejung, all of whom are currently participating in Season 2 of 'World of Street Woman Fighter.'
When asked what led them to return to the fierce dance competition show despite already being established performers, Honey J admitted, “I think I romanticized my memories of the past.” She added, “Every time we film, I find myself thinking, ‘Why did I agree to do this again?’”
Honey J further shared how the experience brought back intense memories. “As soon as we started filming, everything came flooding back. Even just hearing the signature sound of 'Street Woman Fighter' during mission reveals triggered a PTSD-like reaction.”
Despite these struggles, Honey J expressed a sense of gratitude for the opportunity. “There were many difficult moments, but I’m thankful for more things than I can count. In the end, I’m left with mostly good memories,” she said with a smile.
Fellow dancer Leejung echoed a similar sentiment. “I can create something new through dance, and if I’m needed, I have no reason to say no,” she said, describing her decision to return as a simple one. “I just chose not to overthink it.”
Despite the emotional toll and lingering trauma, the dancers' unwavering passion for their craft continues to resonate with audiences, offering both inspiration and a raw look at the realities behind the scenes of competitive performance.
