Actress Go Hyun Jung has responded with shock to rumors of her death that circulated during her recent hiatus.
On June 3, Go shared a vlog on her YouTube channel documenting her overseas schedule. In the video, her staff brought up the rumors, saying, “There were even death rumors about you while the channel was inactive.”
Surprised, Go covered her mouth with her hand and asked, “Was that really a thing?” expressing disbelief.
She continued, “That’s shocking. But I guess the people who spread that may have been those who saw how seriously ill I was late last year. I was really in critical condition — it was close.”
Reassuring fans, she smiled and added, “But I didn’t die. I recovered well and I’m healthy now, so there’s no need to worry. Thank you.”
Last December, Go Hyunjung was unable to attend the press conference for the drama Namib due to health issues. She later revealed she had undergone surgery while hospitalized.
In a January update, she said, “I’ve recovered a lot. I was shocked by how sick I was, but after successfully completing major surgery, I feel more grounded now.”
On June 3, she also updated her Instagram, posting a photo of herself wearing a beret to promote her new vlog — showing fans her healthier self.
Meanwhile, Go Hyunjung is set to appear in the upcoming SBS drama 'The Mantis' (Samagwi).
