EXO’s Suho revealed his academic family background and brought both humility and humor to the premiere of 'Problematic Men reboot: math edition', which aired on June 23 on tvN.
The new season of the show focuses on helping viewers regain confidence in math through brain-stimulating challenges. Host Jun Hyun Moo, a veteran from the original series, kicked off the episode by introducing the new cast: “Of all the former 'Problematic Men,' I’m the only one left. Since I’m not great at math, I’ll introduce you to new faces who are.” He added, “Ten years ago, I called it the ‘brain-sexy era’—now, it’s time for the ‘math era.’”
When Jun Hyun Moo highlighted Suho’s academic credentials, the EXO member quickly played it down: “I went to an arts high school, so I basically didn’t take the math section on the college entrance exam,” he joked. This prompted Jun Hyun Moo to quip, “Did you not hear what kind of show this is?” to which Suho laughed and admitted, “Yeah, I’m a bit worried.”

Despite his modesty, Suho later shared his impressive family background: “My father is a professor of economics, my mother was a math teacher, and my older brother went to graduate school at KAIST.” Fellow cast member John Park was impressed, saying, “You’ve definitely got it in your blood. That’s a brainiac family.”
In the episode, the cast also reflected on their own struggles with math while diving into fun and challenging problems. The reboot promises a fresh take on the classic show, with a stronger focus on math and a lineup of guests ready to test their wits.
