'The Good Man,' the upcoming noir drama starring Lee Dong Wook, unveiled a new poster ahead of its highly anticipated premiere.
In the poster, Lee Dong Wook sits alone in an empty subway car. His silent, vacant gaze paired with the line, "It’s okay if my life falls apart a little," hints at a narrative weight that goes beyond a simple melodrama. The image prompts viewers to question what a man with a gangster background would risk everything to protect, sparking curiosity in the audience.

There is much anticipation for the upcoming drama, as many are looking forward to the drama's quality, being co-directed by Song Hae Sung, who is known for his delicate emotional portrayals in 'Failan,' 'Boomerang Family,' and 'Maundy Thursday,' and Park Hong Soo, who worked on the drama 'Lost.'
The series also boasts a stellar cast, including Lee Dong Wook, Lee Sung Kyung, Park Hoon, Oh Na Ra, Ryu Hye Young, and Chun Ho Jin. These actors have already proven their skills capable of delivering restrained yet powerful performances, and they are raising anticipation on how they will bring the emotional noir to life.
Lee Dong Wook’s character, Park Seok Chul, is a man who unwillingly ended up in the gangster world but has never let go of his childhood dream of becoming a novelist like Hemingway. Just as he faces his past in an effort to reset his life, a fateful reunion with his first love causes yet another rupture in his path.
Lee Sung Kyung’s character, Kang Mi Young, is a struggling aspiring singer who repeatedly falls short in the face of harsh reality. Her unyielding journey to stand back up mirrors Seok Chul’s, intensifying the emotional undercurrent of the story.
The production team commented, “Even amidst the trials of a harsh reality, Park Seok Chul’s journey to find a new life and love will offer both heartfelt empathy and warm laughter. Viewers can look forward to Lee Dong Wook delivering a compelling emotional noir that moves fluidly between intense action and deep melodrama.”
'The Good Man' will premiere on July 18 at 8:50 PM KST and will air as part of JTBC’s Friday series, broadcasting two consecutive episodes every Friday night.
