Sola Aoi (age 44), one of Japan's most well-known adult video (AV) actresses, has spoken up regarding the recent prostitution allegations involving former The Boyz member Ju Hak Nyeon and AV actress Asuka Kirara.
On June 25, Sora Aoi posted a message on her social media account, writing in Korean: “Although we express sexuality, AV actresses are not prostitutes.” She added in Japanese, “This is the status of AV actresses.”
Her remarks are widely interpreted as addressing the growing controversy surrounding Ju Hak Nyeon and Asuka Kirara, which began after Shukan Bunshun, a Japanese weekly tabloid, released photos of the two drinking and engaging in physical contact at a bar in Tokyo, sparking allegations of prostitution.
Sola Aoi further commented, “The real issue is behaving in a way that leads to the release of such incriminating photos,” acknowledging that from a fan’s perspective, some might react by saying, “Of all people, why an AV actress?”
Back in May, Ju Hak Nyeon’s private meeting with Asuka Kirara became public knowledge, eventually leading to his expulsion from the group. There were also media reports claiming he paid Asuka Kirara for sex, prompting the filing of a legal complaint under South Korea’s anti-prostitution law.
According to his agency’s internal investigation, the two were found to have shared drinks together and later went to Asuka Kirara’s home. However, both Ju Hak Nyeon and Asuka Kirara have denied any involvement in prostitution.
Ju Hak Nyeon stated, “I have never engaged in any illegal activity, including prostitution,” and announced plans for legal action. He also insisted that he never agreed to leave The Boyz or terminate his exclusive contract with his agency, One Hundred Label.
Asuka Kirara likewise refuted the allegations, saying, “I have never received money in exchange for sexual acts.” However, she has yet to explain the reason for attending the drinking gathering in question.
