Former UDT (Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla) operative and 'Single’s Inferno 4' breakout star Yuk Jun Seo is officially launching his acting career with the new Wave original series 'ONE: High School Heroes.'

A production presentation for the upcoming drama was held on the morning of May 28 at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Attending were director Lee Sung Tae and cast members Lee Jung Ha, Kim Do Wan, Kim Sang Ho, Kim Joo Ryeong, Yoo Hee Je, Yuk Jun Seo, and Lim Sung Kyun.

'ONE: High School Heroes' is based on the award-winning Kakao Webtoon 'ONE' by author Lee Eun Jae, which won the “Today’s Our Comics” award in 2020. The story follows top student Eui Kyum (played by Lee Jung Ha), who suffers under his authoritarian father, and Yoon Ki (Kim Do Wan), who seeks to harness Eui Kyum’s innate fighting skills. Together, they form the masked vigilante group “High School Heroes” to shake up the school’s violent hierarchy in this high-intensity action drama.

Adding to the excitement is Yuk Jun Seo’s casting as the mysterious transfer student Lee Geol Jae. Yuk first made his public debut in 2021 on Channel A’s 'Steel Troops' and recently rose to fame through 'Single’s Inferno 4,' drawing comparisons to fellow UDT alumnus and all-around entertainer Dex. Like Dex, who transitioned from reality TV to acting with his debut in the 2023 film 'Tarot,' Yuk is now carving his own path into the acting world.

Yuk briefly appeared in 'Sweet Home 2' in 2023, but 'ONE: High School Heroes' marks his first major acting role. Speaking about his casting, he humbly shared, “It feels surreal to be here. I wasn’t fully confident in my identity as an actor when I auditioned, but I still gave it my all.” He added, “I think the director had his concerns too. Although my role isn’t large in terms of lines or screen time, we worked together to make it feel more natural and authentic to me. The director really helped shape my performance.”

Yuk also highlighted the show’s dynamic action sequences. “Since the focus is on action, I tried to bring as much power and realism as possible. I leveraged my 'Steel Troops' experience and my UDT background to add intensity to the scenes. That authenticity might resonate with viewers,” he explained.

Perhaps most striking was Yuk’s passionate declaration about pursuing acting long-term. “Before 'Steel Troops' and UDT, my creative outlet was visual art. In art, I’ve always valued expression and using my voice without hesitation—and I found that acting aligns closely with that. There’s no reason for me not to pursue this. I want to go all in and dedicate myself completely to acting. That’s just how I am when I set my mind to something,” he stated.

'ONE: High School Heroes' will premiere with episodes 1–4 on May 30, followed by episodes 5–6 on June 6 and episodes 7–8 on June 13.
