Comedian  Lee Soo Geun’s agency has announced plans to pursue legal action after an impersonator falsely claimed to be the comedian’s manager and attempted to commit fraud.

On May 13, Big Planet Made Entertainment issued an official statement revealing that an individual has been impersonating Lee Soo Geun’s manager to make fraudulent reservations and gain financial benefits.

According to the agency, the impersonator used a fake business card and claimed to represent the company while reserving expensive wine (worth approximately 4 million KRW / about 2,900 USD) at multiple restaurants in Ulsan. The scam follows a trend referred to as “celebrity impersonation no-shows,” which causes real economic harm to businesses.

The agency warned industry contacts to stay vigilant, stating, “There is a possibility of further attempts, so we ask everyone to exercise caution.” They also emphasized the seriousness of the matter and declared their intention to pursue both civil and criminal charges against the impersonator.

“We recognize the gravity of the situation and will take strong action, including legal measures, against any impersonation or fraudulent conduct,” the agency stated. They also encouraged the public to report any suspicious activity to help prevent further damage.
