Actress Kim Ok Bin was rushed to the hospital after suffering an eye injury that led to the temporary suspension of filming for SBS variety show 'Jungle Bob 2.'
The incident aired on the May 1 episode of 'Jungle Bob 2,' where viewers witnessed the actress in visible pain, prompting an emergency halt to production.
While traveling by car, Kim was seen wiping her eyes with a handkerchief, struggling with discomfort. Co-star Ryu Soo Young, alarmed by her condition, asked, “Did something get into your eye?” Kim replied, “It’s not that something got in, but my vision is blurry,” as she continued to tear up and express severe pain.
The actress had earlier participated in a deep-sea dive, reaching depths of 20 meters to catch seafood. She speculated, “It might be because of the defogging solution I kept using on my diving mask while underwater.” Despite rinsing her eyes with water, her condition did not improve, and she continued to complain of blurred vision and discomfort.
Fellow cast members insisted she seek medical attention, and Kim was promptly taken to a local hospital. The attending medical staff stated, “It looks like something got into her eye. After rinsing and treatment, she should be okay.”
After receiving treatment, Kim Ok Bin reassured the production crew, saying, “Something must have gotten in during the dive. I had my eyes rinsed and got some medication. Since it’s the cornea, it should heal quickly with a day or two of rest.”
The incident highlighted the physical risks involved in outdoor survival shows and the importance of immediate medical support during remote shoots.
