Son Heung Min has submitted a written statement to the police in connection with an ongoing blackmail case. Earlier last week, a man and a woman were arrested and under investigation for blackmailing the soccer player, alleging the woman was pregnant with Son Heung Min's child.

According to reports, the statement includes specific details about Son Heung Min’s meeting with the woman, who has been identified only by the surname Yang, and who is currently in custody on charges of blackmail. Another individual, a man in his 40s surnamed Yong, is also under investigation for allegedly colluding with Yang.

Son Heung Min stated that he returned to Korea on May 23, 2023, in preparation for the second round of the North and Central America World Cup qualifiers. According to the written statement submitted to Gangnam Police Station, he met Yang on May 31 and June 1.

The timeline indicates that Son Heung Min acknowledged meeting Yang up until June 1, the day before he departed for Singapore on June 2 for an away match.

Son Heung Min’s side claims that about a month after their meeting, Yang informed him of her pregnancy. Son reportedly suggested meeting in person to talk, but Yang allegedly demanded money instead and refused the meeting.
