Seventeen's agency announced that they were taking extensive legal action against individuals who leaked confidential information and invaded the group's privacy.

On March 17, Pledis Entertainment released an official statement via the fan community platform Weverse, detailing its ongoing legal actions regarding privacy violations, unauthorized leaks of undisclosed information, and malicious online posts targeting the group.

Pledis stated, "We are taking strict measures against actions that threaten the safety of our artists. Recently, an airline employee who illegally sold flight information related to Seventeen was indicted following an investigation. We are also actively pursuing lawsuits against those who have invaded the artists' privacy."

The agency also addressed cases where confidential information about Seventeen’s unreleased albums and performances had been leaked on anonymous online forums since early 2023.

The agency stated, "We have made every effort to protect information regarding our artists' activities as confidential, but at a certain point, the leaks reached an unacceptable level."

They further explained, "We have initiated the process of gathering evidence for criminal complaints, and in the second half of last year, we appointed a law firm to proceed with legal action. Currently, law enforcement authorities are investigating the case. While we cannot disclose detailed information at this time to avoid interfering with the investigation, we want to inform you that an official inquiry into the suspects is underway."

Additionally, the agency emphasized its firm stance against defamatory content and malicious online behavior, stating, "We have been continuously collecting posts and comments containing personal attacks, false information, defamation, and sexual harassment against our artists. Those responsible for extreme insults, mockery, personal attacks, sexual harassment, baseless rumors, and privacy violations have all been included in our complaints, and legal action has been filed. There will be no settlements or leniency in our legal responses to violations of our artists' rights."

Pledis concluded by expressing gratitude to Seventeen’s fans for their support, stating, "Fan interest and reports play a crucial role in our legal actions. We sincerely appreciate your unwavering love and dedication. As always, we will prioritize protecting our artists’ rights and will continue to take the strongest measures possible."
