Actress Lee Joo Shil, who most recently graced the small screen in ‘Squid Game 2’, has passed away at the age of 81, on February 2, 2025.
Lee Joo Shil was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 1993 and later received the diagnosis of complete remission in 2010, but she unfortunately had a relapse in November last year.
Lee Joo Shil debuted in 1964 as a voice actor and actor, and most recently shone on screen in the 2024 KBS romance drama ‘Beauty and Mr. Romantic’ and in the sequel of the hit Netflix series ‘Squid Game 2’ as the mother of the detective Hwang Jun Ho, played by actor Wi Ha Joon.
The deceased's funeral will be held at Sinchon Severance Hospital in Seoul, and the funeral procession will take place on the 5th.
