Following the successful release of his first solo album, Foam of Youth, and completing his first solo Asia tour, Doyoung extended his support as UN World Children's Day approaches on November 20th. His contribution will help ensure a warmer Christmas and holiday season for children in need.
Notably, Doyoung’s upcoming single, Dazzling to the Point of Pain, releasing on the 6th, carries a message of encouragement to young people striving through life. His donation serves as another gesture of support, spreading his positive influence beyond music.
Doyoung, known as a “representative donation angel among K-pop idols,” is meticulous in identifying areas of need and selecting suitable donation channels.
In 2022, he donated 30 million KRW (about $22,000 USD) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association for wildfire recovery in Uljin and Samcheok, and 100 million KRW (around $74,000 USD) to the Community Chest of Korea to aid earthquake recovery in Turkey and Syria in February.
Doyoung also became a special "Santa" for children last Christmas by donating 50 million KRW (around $37,000 USD) to the Community Chest of Korea, and on his birthday on February 1st, he donated 30 million KRW to fund essentials for low-income female adolescents through a dedicated platform.
This recent donation to UNICEF adds to the remarkable 310 million KRW (about $229,000 USD) he has given over two years, earning him a spot as the 3,112th member of the Honor Society for high-value donors.
