The K-pop Acts that Debuted with Three Title Tracks

In the cutthroat world of K-pop, where new groups debut almost every week, some acts are taking a bold approach by dropping not just one or two, but *three* title tracks right out of the gate. It’s a smart strategy to grab attention and show off their range from the get-go. By offering up a mix of different styles and vibes, these groups are giving fans a chance to experience their versatility and get a real feel for what they can bring to the table.

Here’s a look at some of the K-pop acts that made their debut with three title tracks, showcasing their diversity and making a splash in the industry.

BOYNEXTDOOR

BOYNEXTDOOR, a K-pop boy group under Zico’s KOZ Entertainment, made their highly anticipated debut on May 30, 2023, releasing the single album ‘Who!’. The album features three title tracks: "But I Like You," "One and Only," and "Serenade," each showcasing a vibrant, youthful image and engaging storytelling that resonates with listeners.

NewJeans

NewJeans took the K-pop world by storm with their exceptional and highly successful debut. Their self-titled debut EP comprises three title tracks: “Attention,” “Hype Boy,” and “Cookie.” With these three captivating hits, NewJeans reach a wider range of audiences and quickly build a strong fanbase. The group’s retro-inspired aesthetics, smooth choreography, and standout visuals made their debut one of the most talked-about in the industry.

AKMU

AKMU, a sibling duo under YG Entertainment consisting of Lee Chanhyuk and Lee Suhyun, made their official debut on April 7, 2014, with the release of their first full-length album, ‘Play.’ “Give Love,” “200%,” and “Melted” serve as the triple title tracks of the album, each of which was well-received. Their authentic style, characterized by Suhyun's delicate vocals and Chanhyuk’s heartfelt lyricism, resonated with the general public.

EXO-SC

EXO-SC, a popular sub-unit of the iconic SM Entertainment’s boy band EXO, burst onto the scene with three title tracks in July 2019. Comprised of members Sehun and Chanyeol, the duo debuted with the mini album ‘What a Life,’ which highlights their diverse talents. Featuring triple title tracks "What a Life," "Just Us 2,” and “Closer to You,” the album’s success solidified EXO-SC as a standout sub-unit.

Debuting with triple-title tracks is an opportunity as well as a challenge. It requires balancing promotions for multiple songs, crafting distinct visual concepts, and creating choreography for each track—all while trying to establish a cohesive identity for a brand-new group.
