Actor Park Seo Joon talks about his passion for acting
On October 7th KST, the YouTube channel ‘Sung Si Kyung’ featured a video titled “Sung Si Kyung’s Meeting | I fell for Park Seo Joon the first time I met him.”
In the video, Park Seo Joon shared that he decided to pursue acting during his first year of high school, saying, “I was very shy when I was younger. I couldn’t even speak in front of others, and I felt like a fool.” He also opened up about being bullied, adding, “In the end, I think it all comes down to self-esteem and confidence. Back then, I lacked confidence because I thought I wasn’t anything special. But as I started acting, I gained confidence.” He explained that acting helped him restore his self-esteem.
Now, he says, “I feel alive when I’m acting.” Park Seo Joon expressed that “it feels like I’m the only one in the world, like I’m in a different space, and that’s what makes me keep acting—I’m addicted to that feeling.”
He also mentioned his close friendship with BTS’s V (Taehyung), saying, “Since I’m close with BTS’s Taehyung, whenever I go to his concerts, there are so many incredible fans. The catharsis that singers must feel on stage is something I may never experience in my lifetime, so I’m curious about what that feels like.” This comment drew attention.
Park Seo Joon made his debut in 2011 by appearing in a music video and officially began his acting career with the 2012 KBS2 drama ‘Dream High 2.’ Some of his notable works include the dramas ‘Kill Me, Heal Me,’ ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,’ ‘Itaewon Class,’ and ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ (seasons 1 & 2), as well as the films ‘Parasite’ and ‘Concrete Utopia.’
