Fans note SM Entertainment's lack of legal action despite multiple warnings against malicious commenters

AKP STAFF

Recently, fans have gathered in a popular online community to question whether SM Entertainment has carried out legal action against malicious commenters just as they had previously announced.

Earlier this year, SM Entertainment issued a series of official statements regarding lawsuits filed to address infringements on the rights of their artists. The label released statements for all their artists, including BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, aespa, RIIZE, NCT WISH, and more.

SM Entertainment stated, "Through vigilant monitoring of reports received from fans via 'KWANGYA 119,' we are actively pursuing legal actions, both civil and criminal, in collaboration with the law firm Shin & Kim LLC."

The label continued, "These actions are aimed at combating various crimes such as malicious defamation, invasion of privacy, sexual harassment, and the dissemination of false information targeting our artists. We are committed to responding firmly and decisively without any leniency or compromise to protect the interests of our affiliated artists. We kindly ask for your utmost attention to avoid any involvement in unpleasant incidents. We sincerely thank all fans who have taken the time to report and assure you that we will continue to make every effort to safeguard the rights of our affiliated artists in every possible way."

Recently, fans voiced their discontent, noting that while SM Entertainment issued warnings about potential legal actions, the label has not provided any updates on the outcomes of the lawsuits. This has led many to question whether the company actually pursued the legal actions as initially suggested.

One fan complained, "They only post a 'notice' about legal action and nothing else. (While it varies slightly for each artist, even this is updated only once every few years, every n years, or every 2n years.) Unlike other agencies, there is absolutely no 'rough' sharing of information about whom they are currently suing, the status of ongoing legal actions, or the outcomes of these cases. Each time, just one notice is the end." They continued, "SM has established 'KWANGYA 119' and the fans are collecting evidence and spoon-feeding it to them."

Other fans agreed and commented, "This is why haters don't stop with their malicious comments because SM just warns but never carries out the lawsuit," "Their statements are just for show, I have never seen them carry out the work," "That KWANGYA119 has no use," "They shouldn't have even made KWANGYA119 if they weren't going to use it," "I've never seen SM say they finished a lawsuit, lol," "Their threats don't work anymore, lol," and "They only say they're going to sue with just words."

talking about the groups from the company that i stan, the posted one of those notes about the girl stalker that has been following and harassing nct members (specially jaehyun and 127) for a long time whenever they go to the US, saying they would do their best but did nothing. the girl came back on twitter talking the same bullshit as always. they have promised to take action on many other situations involving nct members and sasaengs, and nothing never happened. they promised to take action against people leaking seunghan's personal life, and that bbosongee bitch only deactivated her account because she needs to study lmao. they're all talk

Honestly, I hate when agencies just put out warnings. Just gather the evidence and sue them. There have been MANY warnings from so many agencies that I'm sure these crazy netizens already know what they're doing is wrong, but don't care. Sue them and protect your artists.
