ZEROBASEONE Han Sung Bin's response to a hater triggers a debate

AKP STAFF

Recently, there has been a debate in the popular Korean online community Nate Pann that caused a schism among K-pop enthusiasts.

The debate surrounds an incident involving ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han Bin, which shows a clear divide in response from netizens.

The discussion began when one netizen created a post titled "Oh I hate stuff like this" on Nate Pann. The netizen included a photo on the post showing Sung Han Bin's response to a hater.

The hater wrote, "You're life is so pathetic hahaha please die. You're an embarrassment to the planet we're living on, you gawkies." Underneath, Sung Han Bin responded, "I think this is a form of attention so I will embrace you with love."

Surprisingly, the netizen who created the online community post wrote, "I like idols to receive healing, but I really dislike when they pay attention to comments like this, engage in arguments, and make a scene. Han Sung Bin himself seemed nice, so why can't he just ignore comments like these? Even female idols who receive hate comments from the public try to refrain from such behavior while they endure harsh criticism. But he presses the heart button like he's saying 'I'm being magnanimous to the pitiful you.' I hate this kind of action."

This post triggered various reactions. Some of the netizens commented, "Why can't he just ignore it? Because of his comment, it's instigating more and the members would be cursed at. Don't comment back. Just ignore," "I hate when they can't ignore haters," "I did think 'did he have to? it's not been that long since he debuted," "I would have just deleted it instead of putting the energy to reply," and "Even female idols who get cursed at more than him don't respond like that. Why wouldn't haters not eat him up when he's being like that?"

Netizens who defended Sung Han Bin commented, "I really think the people who say something about Sung Han Bin after seeing this are crazy. Normal people would curse at the hater first," "? The hater is in the wrong but he's getting criticized," "You should be beating up the hater, not the person who responded to the comment. Does this make sense?" "This person is a total anti-fan," "Am I the only person who doesn't get what the poster is saying?" "But the person telling him to die is the abnormal one, why are so many people saying things to Han Bin?" "I thought he was being so awesome," "I guess Sung Han Bin is the boy version of Jang Won Young," and "Is everyone crazy? Why is the victim being hated?"

Why are they not targeting people who leave hateful comments?
