MONSTA X's Kihyun has announced his enlistment in the military through a heartfelt, handwritten letter on MONSTA X's official fan cafe. In the letter, Kihyun expressed his gratitude towards his dedicated fan base, Monbebe, and assured them that he would make the most of his time before his departure.
In the handwritten letter, Kihyun said, "I will be enlisting on August 22. Even if I already talked about it many times and you knew it was coming, I know Monbebe would worry first, but I feel relieved because I feel like I'm completing homework that has been pushed back."
He continued, “I am just grateful that there are so many people who support me. I will do my best to make precious memories in various ways until I leave.”
Kihyun is now the fourth member of MONSTA X to enlist in the military, following the footsteps of Shownu, Minhyuk, and Jooheon. Shownu has already completed his military service and was discharged in April, while Minhyuk and Jooheon have recently started their service as active duty soldiers.

"Monbebe! This is Kihyun! Are you doing well today?
I thought a lot about how to write this message, but even if I leave it at that, I think Monbebe would know what I'm talking about, so I won't add on unnecessarily!
I will be enlisting on August 22.
Even if you might have known it was coming because I spoke about it often, I know Monbebe would worry first, but I rather feel relief because I feel as if I'm completing a long-delayed assignment!
I am just grateful that there are so many people who support me. I will do my best to make precious memories in various ways until I leave!
The members, including me, will be away for awhile, but don't be going anywhere else.
I'm not joking, I'm being serious.
If you eat well! Are healthy! Stay energetic! And overall doing well, I'll be back before you know it.
Once I get back, I'll be saying 'I love you Monbebe' with the members haha.
