The performance of Jimin's songs on South Korea's streaming platforms reinforces his status as his home country's favorite idol, despite having made his official solo debut just over two months ago. It is a clear demonstration that many had been anticipating his solo music projects, as even while promoting as a group, Jimin had already set himself apart as a top-tier artist and set high expectations for his solo work.
Just a few days ago, Jimin made history on Spotify South Korea as the first and only solo artist in history to garner over 100k daily streams on the Daily Top Songs chart and to spend at least 50 days as the #1 artist on the Daily Top Artists chart [refer here for details]. His record-setting streak on Spotify South Korea does not seem to be slowing down any time soon, as he has yet again reached new milestones and set more records to his name!
On June 10, his lead single 'Like Crazy' from his solo debut album 'FACE,' became his second song to hit 100k+ daily streams on Spotify South Korea, after 'Angel Pt.1' had already reached this feat some days earlier. By so doing, Jimin became the first and only solo artist in history to have two songs hit 100k+ daily streams on the country's Daily Top Songs Chart. The only other artist to have two songs with such a feat on the chart is a group act.
The big records did not stop there. Just a day earlier, 'Angel Pt.1' had reached a new peak for daily streams on Spotify South Korea among all songs released in 2023. By attaining 125,672 daily streams, the song surpassed 'OMG' by 'New Jeans' to set a new record as the biggest streaming day for any song in 2023 on Spotify's South Korea Daily Top Songs Chart.
Not only did 'Angel Pt.1' achieve a new record for the biggest streaming day for any song in 2023 on the chart, but it also set another equally impressive record as the biggest streaming day by a Korean male act on Spotify South Korea after surpassing the previous record set by Big Bang with 'Still Life.'
Currently, Jimin has two songs in the top 5 and 4 songs in the top 10 of the biggest streaming days in the history of Spotify South Korea.
Meanwhile, Jimin has maintained his #1 spot on the country's Daily Top Artists Chart for the 54th day, extending his record as the longest-charting solo artist at #1 on this chart! He has spent a total of 309 days on the chart with a 150-day streak.
