Netizens discuss if Kim Jae Hwan's involvement in CIX Bae Jin Young's recent bullying controversy was 'necessary'

AKP STAFF

Earlier this week, CIX member Bae Jin Young became wrapped up in rumors that he was being bullied by fans as well as his group members.

Afterward, CIX's agency released a statement to deny any bullying accusations, and warned legal action against those who posted the initial, maliciously edited videos.

At the same time, the issue gained new attention when Bae Jin Young's former group mate from his Wanna One days, Kim Jae Hwan, took to his Instagram story to express his apparent frustration over the controversy.

In his Instagram story post, Kim Jae Hwan shared a screen shot of the controversial video which raised the initial bullying accusations, along with a "thinking" emoji.

When some fans asked him why he posted the above Instagram story, Kim Jae Hwan simply said, "As a hyung who shared the same memories, I can upload it if I feel upset, can't I? Laugh."

For some netizens, Kim Jae Hwan's involvement in the issue apparently seemed rather "careless". They commented,

"It was irresponsible. He's drawing unnecessary attention to the whole thing."
"Even if you posted it out of your own anger, you didn't show very much respect or consideration for Jin Young either. Just spreading that malicious video itself is damaging to your dongsaeng."
"If you're worried about him, just call him personally."
"For a post showing that he's 'upset', it's very ambiguous... a lot of other misunderstandings could arise from a post like that, like 'Oh, he knows something...'."
"It was way too careless. Sharing that video isn't helping anyone."
"Just call him and ask him yourself to confirm the facts, instead of causing extra drama."

It was necessary though. It's obviously bullying. It doesn't matter who posted it, the video speaks for itself. The only ones butt hurt are probably the ones who were part of the bullying. It's like, "How dare this guy expose us for bullying another person!"

Also, look at this person gaslighting and victim-blaming,"Even if you posted it out of your own anger, you didn't show very much respect or consideration for Jin Young either. Just spreading that malicious video itself is damaging to your dongsaeng."

How is it malicious towards Jinyoung? He's the victim here? way to try to deflect...

Wow... Complete loss of words at the aloofness towards the defender and victim. Do they really expect people to simply watch someone get bullied till the point of irreversible damage?
