Viewers are saying that the scene of Jeon Jong Seo dancing to BTS's 'DNA' in Netflix's 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area' is cheesy and unnecessary

Many viewers are showing unenthusiastic responses to an opening scene in Netflix's 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area', which premiered globally on June 24.

The scene in question is comprised of actress Jeon Jong Seo, who plays a young woman from North Korea who is a fan of BTS, dancing to "DNA". She introduces herself to viewers as a rather special "ARMY", because unlike most ARMYs, she actually served in the army for the North.

Although the scene is a brief, introductory scene meant to introduce Jeon Jong Seo's character, many Korean viewers still felt that it was "too cheesy" and "unnecessary". They commented,

"It's so obviously saying, 'Hello, this is a drama made by the nation that BTS is from'..."
"I almost turned it off when this came on... But after the first episode it gets better."
"The intention is just too noticeable, it's outright cheesy."
"Isn't this supposed to be kind of serious and dark? What is that scene even supposed to add?"
"The opening scenes in dramas are extremely important, but this scene made a lot of people want to turn it off."
"I'm embarrassed for her."
"Yeah, they wanted to make it obvious that Korea is famous for K-Pop... but they did a bad job of it."
"I was literally like what the heck. This was so unnecessary."
"It would be way less cheesy if they took out the awkward dancing."
"So embarrassing. They just had to put BTS in it somehow."

She's in a country that bans kpop and is known to execute people who listen to and watch it. So it makes sense bcs the scene shows she's risking her life by doing what she wants and that already shows what kind of character she is as the show progresses. It was a cool and clever way to introduce her character kinda like how they introduced Star-Lord in the Guardians of the galaxy when he was dancing while risking paying the consequences. It felt unnecessary to see someone dance while something serious is going on but that's just one way to portray a character. These "viewers" really just sound like pressed kpoppies who can't enjoy a scene bcs of a certain song by a certain artist lol

It did feel cheesy until I saw it was the North and then it made perfect sense.
