Actress Kang Soo Yeon (55) lost consciousness and collapsed due to a cerebral hemorrhage. She is currently undergoing emergency surgery after being transported to a nearby hospital. 

The actress was found collapsed at her home in Apgujeong on the afternoon of the 5th. Paramedics rushed to the scene after her family called the emergency number 119, but it is said that her heart was not beating when the EMT arrived.

It has been revealed that Kang Soo Yeon was diagnosed with intracerebral hemorrhage, where a blood vessel inside her brain ruptured. She has not been unable to regain consciousness, and her sister and manager are watching over her currently.

Kang Soo Yeon is known as South Korea's first 'world star' actress. She was the first Korean actress to win Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival (1987) and the Moscow Film Festival (1989).

She has received more than ten trophies, including the Daejong Award, Blue Dragon, and Baeksang Awards. Additionally, she served as Executive Chairman of the Busan International Film Festival from 2015 to 2017.
