J-Hope's "Disease" was selected by the Editor-in-Chief of Esquire Magazine as one of the Top 30 best songs of 2020
Dave Holmes, Editor-in-Chief of the American long-standing men's magazine "Esquire," shared playlists on his Twitter of the 30 best songs in 2020. The playlists on Spotify and Apple Music included the song "Dis-ease" by member J-HOPE of BTS.
Dave Holmes said these are the best songs for a turbulent year and included links to listen to songs on Spotify and Apple Music.
J-HOPE's song is ranked at No. 6 and is the only song by a Korean artist. "Dis-ease" is a song with the genre "Hip hop old school" written by J-HOPE himself, in the third mini-album "BE" that BTS released on November 20. The song is a story about an occupational disease with a state of inability to enjoy the fullness of a sudden break and calls on everyone to overcome it together.
Some of the other songs on the list selected by Dave Holmes are the works of famous American, British and Irish artists such as "Cool" by Dua Lipa, "The Last Great American Dynasty" by Taylor Swift, "Babylon" by Lady Gaga. The two non-English songs on this list are "Dis-ease" by J-HOPE and "Anthropic (Cold Times)" by boy group Hilang Child (Indonesia).
The American entertainment website "Consequence of Sound" on December 4 also voted the song "Dis-ease" by J-HOPE to the Top 50 songs of the year 2020.
