i believe the new girl group will be a japanese promo only, for Japan, by japanese members.
JYP seems to have learn the lesson that mixing Korean and Japanese members can cause international issues, and hamper profits.
like in 2019, when japan impose restricts on imports on Korea, and there was a rise in Hate for japanese products in Korea, and now Japan restricts Koreans entry and Korea did a tit-for-tat and do the same for Japanese entering Korea.
so just as how SM, did for WayV, a Chinese boy group for China, by China. and avoiding the issues with China's ban on Hallyu.
JYP is doing the same for japan market also, japanese girl group for japan by japan.
hence her ability to speak korean is just a bonus but i doubt will be needed in promotion as much.
