Crystal Krush claims they have copyright permission from KARD's label

In case you missed it: On December 4, Crystal Krush, a Mexican group, got exposed by Hidden KARD's yesterday for stealing KARD's music.

On December 5, Crystal Krush's label MGS Mexico stated that they have a good commercial relationship with DSP Media as well with other companies interested in getting into the Mexican Music Market, They also confirmed that they have all the copyright for the material so there is not any plagiarism.

They also mentioned everything was caused by their production studio not giving in to an attempt of extortion, Since recent controversy, MGS Mexico also states that the members of Crystal Krush have been both verbally & physically abused and the company condemned the actions, they also deny being apart of the chat conversations going around on SNS.

In light of the most recent events; MGS Mexico & DSP Media have agreed to remove all the material from SNS, they emphasize they have all the rights but the integrity of the members must come first, They asked KPOP fans and Hidden KARD's to stop the accusations and the attacks towards the members, or MGS Mexico will be taking legal action.

They also stated one of the members was verbally and physically attacked yesterday because of the Controversy- as a result two members decided to leave the group the two members were EJ and Emma, they thanked them for their trust and wished them the best.

In conclusion, Crystal Krush is not disbanding nor disappearing, they'll come back with new members and original material they've been working on, the statement ends with words from the two remaining members, exhorting fans to not engage in this violent behaviour. Instead, we all should be united to build not destroy, because we all love music and kpop culture.

Hello,
from faculty of DSPmedia.

Recently, there have been cases of unauthorized use of creations such as songs and performances of our artist KARD.

In this regard, DSPmedia makes it clear that we have never consented to any group to use KARD’s creations.

Also, DSPmedia has not allowed or cooperated with any overseas group or agency to modify or borrow the contents of KARD.

We will take a hard-line response and legal action against the act of plagiarizing the creations which took efforts of many creators along with KARD members themselves.

Finally, thank all of your love of KARD’s music and performance.

Here's the reality: Literally everyone can license popular songs and use them for e.g. covers. It's called a "mechanical license" and you can buy these licenses via e.g. Harry Fox Agency, LLC. Any royalties go to the original song creator (in this case: DSP Media).

For securing public performance rights, the "American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers" (ASCAP) or "Broadcast Music, Inc." (BMI) are the way to go.

Doing so is NOT plagiarism. People really should stop throwing words like "plagiarism" around without checking facts first...
