On April 16, the cast and staff of tvN's upcoming food truck reality series '4 Wheeled Restaurant in LA' attended the program's press conference at a hotel in Seoul.
On this day, main PD Lee stated as a disclaimer, "We ran into an unexpected development while we were filming overseas, but we all put in our best efforts to wrap up filming joyously, and we succeeded. I suspect that you all will have many questions [regarding the unexpected development]. However, at this event, the main characters are our cast members, and we are here to promote our program so we would appreciate it if you could refrain from asking about this topic, and instead ask more about our show."
Regardless of the disclaimer, the press carried on asking PD Lee about former cast member Jung Joon Young, who was previously cast as a server of the food truck. PD Lee explained, "As we notified you in our previous official statement at the time, [Jung Joon Young's return to Korea immediately after news of his controversy broke out] was scheduled and intentional. We had originally planned from the start to have Jung Joon Young help out in Los Angeles, and Minwoo help out in San Francisco. We also found out [about Jung Joon Young's controversies] early that morning through news reports. That day, we were busy moving from place to place, so after setting out that morning, we did not meet Jung Joon Young again after then. Thankfully, Minwoo joined the cast and led the filming by brightening the mood, so we were able to film merrily."
Assuring the press that Jung Joon Young will be edited out of the show to cause viewers minimal discomfort, PD Lee then received a question related to allegations that Jung Joon Young potentially disposed of his old mobile phone in the U.S. Lee responded, "I had no idea that he decided to change phones. I was focussed on filming, so there is nothing I know regarding that matter."
Meanwhile, '4 Wheeled Restaurant's newest season in Los Angeles and San Francisco premieres this April 18 at 11 PM KST.
