JYP Entertainment has confirmed Suzy has left the label after 9 years.

"Hello. This is JYP Entertainment.
We're announcing JYPE's exclusive contract with Suzy ends on March 31.
We've had thorough discussions over the last few months, and we came to the mutual decision not to renew the contract.
Following Suzy's debut with miss A in 2010, she's worked her hardest with JYP, showing outstanding passion.
In 2017, her contract was renewed once because of our mutual trust, and it continued our special relationship.
We express sincere gratitude to Suzy, who went through ups and downs with JYP for the last 9 years from 2010 until now and gave the joy of growing together.
In addition, we give gratitude to fans who've provided generous love to all the achievements and challenges JYP and Suzy took on together.
Though our official relationship is ending, JYP will sincerely support the path Suzy walks down in the future.
Thank you."

Suzy is now reported to be speaking with Management SOOP and plans to sign with the agency in April. Management SOOP is known to house top actors like Gong YooJung Yoo MiSeo Hyun JinKim Jae Wook, and Gong Hyo Jin. Former JYPE actor Choi Woo Sik also signed on with the label in 2018.

Stay tuned for updates on Suzy.

Makes sense. She wants to focus on her acting career as she is no longer an active idol and she wants to join a company that specializes in it.

All the best to her!

In case anyone is wondering who Soop Management is they are owned by Kakao M the entertainment subsidiary of internet firm Kakao, it recently appointed Kim Sung-soo the former CEO of entertainment firm CJ ENM as it's new CEO and plans to go head to head with Netflix and CJ ENM with new "short form content" particularly aimed at mobile phone users such as teenagers.

It might be a coincidence that Suzy is joining at this time but I suspect she was headhunted to join this company to spearhead its entry into this new market.
