Reporter accused of being racist to Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim) reveals the threatening messages she received

Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim)
Reporter Kjersti Flaa revealed she has received racist and threatening messages following the 'Fantastic Beasts 2' interview controversy.

On November 9, the reporter shared screenshots of the direct messages she received on Instagram after her interview of Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim) became controversial.

The reporter called out the people who DM'ed her for being racist themselves by titling her "white woman." She asked the trolls to stop and also encouraged love, not hate.

She stated, "These are some messages that I have been getting from angry people because I complimented someone from Korea about speaking well English as a kid. To me you all just show that you stand for none of the things you yourself are suppose to be defending. Respecting everyone no matter race and beliefs. Attacking me with hatred and especially pointing out that I am a white woman, isn't that doing the opposite of how you want the world to be? And how it should be. Everyone treating each other with respect? Isn't that why you attacked me in the first place? So try to change that anger into love and see how much better you will feel about yourselves. So now, stop trolling me and get back to your lives and help making this world a better place for all of us."

Just recently, the reporter received heavy criticism for being racist and asking Soo Hyun about her English. In response, she issued an apology, stating, "I have been totally heartbroken by everything that has happened. All I wanted to do was make a great interview with her and Ezra and I am sorry to everyone that was disappointed."

The threats are laughable, clearly written by dumb kids. If only there was a way to penalize the parents for raising such stupid children.

Her question wasn't even racist in the first place. Also Nagini is irrelevant and barely even talks in the movie

While I did not take offense after watching the interview, I was surprised by her response. She should read up on microaggressions and acknowledge her own white privilege.

I wouldn't call it racist. Perhaps ignorant AT MOST. People are dragging this out too far.

she really is offended because she was called a white woman. i mean how’s that even a problem? that’s literally what she is, lmao. now imagine being affected by actual racial discrimmination.

also her remark WAS ignorant to say the least, i mean why didn’t she bother to “compliment” Ezra’s english? just quit playing the victim and ignore the comments lol

The reporter was only surprised because Claudia knew English while living in country where English is not the main language spoken. English is taught in Korea but a lot of people don't end up being fluent in it. The fact that Claudia knew English just as a kid is pretty impressive. Ezra doesn't count because he was always fluent in English. See the difference? Also the only reason she probably got offended of them calling her a white women is while yes white woman is a neutral term, the people writing the rude comments were trying to make it seem like it is a bad thing to be a white woman like it is the reason that she is "racist"

I agree about white woman part. However, she didn't compliment his english bc he's a native speaker.

If Claudia had grown up in America and the reporter asked her about her english abilities, yeah that would've been racist.
