Sunye responded to the criticisms related to her pregnancy announcement.

On September 21st, Sunye revealed that she is pregnant with her 3rd child, expected to be born in January of next year. Although the news was delivered with supportive words from Polaris Entertainment, certain netizens made comments criticizing Sunye for going on another hiatus right after moving to a new agency.
In order to address her stance, Sunye took to Instagram. She wrote, "I express my gratitude toward everyone who has supported me and congratulated me. ^^ Also, 'hwaiting' to all mothers in the world!! There are many articles that are far from the truth (I never said with my own words that I have retired) and I am aware of all the incisive comments, but I will face everyone again as a 'singer' without shame when the timing is right."
