AKP STAFF

Welcome to Arirang TV's series where we introduce various artists from Korea to the international audience each month! With the help from Arirang TV's 'I'M LIVE' a Korean music program that introduces the authentic beauty of Korean contemporary music to the world, we hope to be adding diversity and possibly enlightening our international readers with the Korean music scene that has not yet been touched on.

Check out the round of I'M LIVE artists for this month below!

1. The Solutions

Comprised of singer-songwriter Naru, Park Sol, Kwon Oh-kyung, and Park Han-sol, this quartet burst onto the Korean music scene in 2012 and won the Best Rookie Award at the Grand Mint Festival Awards the same year in recognition of their fantastic talents and teamwork, which particularly stand out at live concerts and festivals. Also, this band is actively expanding its reach in the global music industry, taking part in a number of music festivals in Europe, the U.S., Japan, Spain, Mexico, and more.

The Solutions are known for their signature, refreshing sounds combined with rhythmical instrumentals and clean vocals flowing beautifully over them. Their pop-inspired, catchy melodies make their music all the more approachable, and the band continues to tackle various musical challenges to expand their musical scope.

The Solutions perform "Sounds of the Universe," "All That You Want," Ticket to the Moon," "Thumbs Up," and "Love Again" to impress the audience with versatile musicality. Tune in to I'm LIVE this week and dance to their feel-good songs!

2. Wetter

Named after a hope to "wet" people with its music, this rock band grabs influences from rock, garage rock, and even some blues to present songs that echo 80's rock legends, offering a rare auditory experience to today's listeners without trendy synthesizers or studio technologies. From their punky hairstyles to outfits straight out of the 1980s, Wetter displays its strong identity as a rock band with the hope of reviving the rock spirit in Korea where the genre's glory days have been said to be long gone.

Despite their short experience in the industry, only a year and a half, Wetter has already secured their spot with a solid fanbase. They have taken part in the Jisan Valley Rock Festival, the Grand Mint Festival, and many other major music carnivals in Korea as well as the soundtrack of the web drama "Yellow." Slowly yet steadily, they are wetting the Korean music scene with their rock vibes.

The quartet performs "The Other Way," "Who," "You," "Lucy," "Romance in a Weird World," and "You and I, Us" to share their musical beliefs as well as their experiences as youngsters in their 20's. Tune in to I'm LIVE this week and let the four wet you!

3. Peppertones

Comprised of guitarist and vocalist Shin Jae-pyeong and bassist Lee Jang-won, this band has been known for their delightful melodies and explosive energy as well as their discography of deeply substantial, playfully un-categorizable pop since debuting in 2004. Driven by a fearless eclecticism that is bolstered by their flawless musicianship, the two also took the Korean Music Award for Best Dance And Electronic Single back in 2007 with the song "Superfantastic" from their first album, "Colourful Express." That's not all. The duo is also famous for their endorphine-filled lyrics, which give those in despair a reason to be happy and hopeful.

The Peppertones display the quintessence of their chameleon nature with "The Fugitive," "The Bird," and "A Long Journey's End" from their latest, 6th studio album, "Long Way," as well as "Wish-list" and "Good Luck" from their 4th album, "Beginner's Luck."
