On the August 20 broadcast of KBS2's 'Hello Counselor', MC Lee Young Ja talked about her swimsuit fashion on 'Bob Bless U', which became a hot topic online.
During this 'Hello Counselor' broadcast, one mother told her story of how her daughter was born with heterochromia - one of her eyes is blue, the other black. Due to her condition, the mother revealed that her child faces social discrimination, and onlookers often make hurtful comments around them.
Listening to their story, MC Lee Young Ja discussed her decision to wear her swimsuit on broadcast and said, "Sometime ago, I trended on search engines because of my swimsuit fashion, and people commented that I was confident, but I'm not. I don't think that I have a very nice body. Still, I am constantly fighting societal prejudice and also with my own self-awareness. I wore the swimsuit because I am doing my best to withstand the prejudice. Confidently. Because this is my body." Hearing Lee Young Ja's heart to heart, the audience members and guests gave her a warm round of applause.
