John Cho sits with allkpop for an exclusive interview for his new movie, 'Searching'!

John Cho is widely regarded as one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, with the ability to play hilarious roles such as Harold from the 'Harold and Kumar' movies, all the way to more thrilling sci-fi characters, such as Hikaru Sulu from the 'Star Trek' franchise. In addition to being an established actor, John brings a refreshing and much-needed Asian presence in a predominantly white Hollywood. Recently, allkpop had the privilege to interview John 1-on-1 about his new movie, 'Searching'! Check out our interview with John Cho above and more information about the movie below!

After David Kim (John Cho)'s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.

Directed by: Aneesh Chaganty
Written by: Aneesh Chaganty, Sev Ohanian
Produced by: Timur Bekmambetov, Sev Ohanian, Adam Sidman, Natalie Qasabian
Cast: John Cho, Debra Messing, Joseph Lee, Michelle La, Sara Sohn

This movie is a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate. It's very unique and you've never seen a movie like this, told in this way. It uses new language and new technology, a new language of storytelling. It's an evolution in movies – what they can be, how they're told, who's telling them. At the same time, it's a big-screen thriller.  The movie was made on small screens but made to be seen on the big screen.

This movie is an incredible crowd-pleaser.  It won the Audience Award at Sundance.  It's a really tight, well-made thriller that you haven't seen before.

Opening in select cities August 24th, everywhere in the US August 31st. For more information, check out the 'Searching' website.
