Meiqui and Xuanyi will be promoting in both Cosmic Girls and Rocket Girls.
On July 3, Cosmic Girls' Korea agency Starship Entertainment and China agency Yuehua Entertainment both confirmed that "Meiqui and Xuanyi, who took 1st and 2nd place on Chinese idol audition program 'Produce 101 China', will be simultaneously promoting in Rocket Girls and their original group Cosmic Girls," and emphasized, "From the very beginning, the contract was signed with them promoting in the two groups simultaneously. Meiqui and Xuanyi will be making a comeback as Cosmic Girls in the second half of the year."
Prior to the latest official statement, Cosmic Girls agency and 'Produce 101 China' producers gave conflicting reports on Meiqui and Xuanyi's promotion plans. The producers of the show claimed the two idols will be promoting only in Rocket Girls.
