Yang Hyun Suk shared his thoughts on Black Pink's future and present.
In an interview with 'E Daily', Yang Hyun Suk sat down and talked about the elements surrounding Black Pink's successful comeback.
"This is only the beginning for Black Pink. They have just begun to bloom, so we believe that they will soon bear fruit," said Yang Hyun Suk. "Our fans tend to call them 'the jewel box', but the box hasn't even been opened yet."
Regarding their latest song "DDU DU DDU DU", Yang Hyun Suk confessed that he was doubtful about the song's impact at first. "The decision to choose the song as the title track was a big challenge, as well as a gamble for us," he said. "We thought that the rap portions were too strong to suit the preferences of the masses."
However, the girls of Black Pink had revealed that they fell in love with the track at first listen. When the reporters talked about Black Pink's rather 'soft' personalities, the CEO answered, "Since Black Pink does not have much experience in social life, their mentality is rather weak. To put it nicely, it is because they are pure and innocent."
Yang Hyun Suk also compared the tactics of Black Pink to heavy preparation for a soccer game. "I am making this comparison as it is currently the World Cup season, but the most important thing in winning a game is to make a surprise attack. I believe that Black Pink's key to success is that they have a totally different tactic to take the other by surprise, every time."
In addition, the CEO refuted any suggestions of comparing Black Pink to 2NE1. "I was certain that people would make comparisons at first," said Yang Hyun Suk. "But the only reason was that Black Pink's debut slightly overlapped with 2NE1's disbandment. And that there were four members. Beyond that, I believe that the differences in the strengths and weaknesses of each member will eliminate such similar comparison in the future."
In other news, Black Pink's new track is currently on top of all music charts, grabbing a perfect all-kill.
