Pentagon's Hui wowed viewers with a powerful solo performance on 'Breakers'.
Mnet's 'Breakers' is a music competition program where singer-songwriters battle against one another with original songs about a given concept. As previously reported, Hui recorded the May 4 episode of the program, performing on stage as audience judges voted on both online and offline platforms.
With Hui's sudden appearance in the show's 2nd round, musicians such as offonoff's Colde and Samuel Seo got curious about the rookie idol's musical potential. They asked Hui about his process of writing songs, and how it differs between producing music for groups and for solos. As a response, Hui said, "Because I can't be rid of the fact that I am an idol, I always have to think about the performance aspects when writing songs. I have to think about what colors come to mind when listening and watching those stages... and that also applies to my solo stages as well."
When his solo stage came on, Hui performed a dark yet powerful piece called "Navigation", which you can watch above. Hui's performance went against Colde's, who delivered a stage of his own song, "Move".
