Currently, entertainment label Fantagio is under fire for alleged violations of Korea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA) laws in regard to management head regulations.
However, on May 16, Fantagio's side officially refuted the allegations, announcing plans to instate new management heads who meet proper requirements by the month of June. In the midst of the ongoing controversy after China's JC Group became Fantagio's largest shareholder, some media outlets claimed that the label artists within Fantagio have not been affected by the issues.
Media outlets noted that various Fantagio actors, actresses, and idol group members are in fact promoting actively in their respective fields, giving examples of 5urprise members and SURPRISE U members starring in various upcoming dramas and movies. In terms of Fantagio's idol groups, the media outlets noted that members of Weki Meki will be releasing a collaboration album with Cosmic Girls soon, and that members of Hello Venus are also active in acting.
One insider reportedly revealed, "Originally, there was discomfort because communication within the label was not well-established, but now, such matters have actually improved. We do not know what it may look like from the outside, but from the inside, all matters are progressing smoothly. There's no need to worry."
