misc.
1. Gee by Girls' Generation
Who can forget some of the most epic lyrics in K-Pop history? The beginning of Gee is a calm introduction to the song's bubbly and hypersound. Punctuated by the "Uh Uh Let's Go!" Girls' Generation's "Gee" has a one-of-a-kind start to an iconic song.
2. The 7th Sense by NCT U
"The 7th Sense" starts with a calm and subtle beat and rhythm that doesn't make you think that it'll be as intense of a song as it really is. Out of nowhere, Taeyong's strong vocals punch through the song's instrumental for a lasting effect. The intro to this track put us in a trance.
3. Fantastic Baby by Big Bang
Just like the intro to "Gee" is iconic for Girls' Generation, the introduction to "Fantastic Baby" is iconic for Big Bang. In fact, the ever-so-epic "?? ??? YEOGI BUTEORA" will turn the head of any K-Pop fan within mere seconds. No matter how many times one has heard "Fantastic Baby," the introduction will never fail to hype up a K-Poppie.
4. Black Dress by CLC
The introduction to and song in general for CLC's "Black Dress" is what many netizens argue is the song that put the group on the map. We only have one question for you CLC fans out there who love the intro to "Black Dress": CAN YOU SEE ME NOW?
5. Catallena by Orange Caramel
The signature screeches from all the members of Orange Caramel put the introduction to "Catallena" on this list. The song is based loosely on a traditional song that uses similar adlibbing. The introduction to this song went so viral it even became a meme!
6. Save Me by BTS
Many netizens claim that the introduction to BTS "Save Me" was heavy indication that they were in for a really good dance song and we totally agree! The song's catch instrumental catches the listener's attention and serves as an amazing intro to one of BTS more underrated singles.
7. 4 Walls by f(x)
The chords at the beginning of f(x)'s "4 Walls" are melodic and beautiful. With a few vibes of progressive house, garage, and pop, f(x) is able to turn the edgy dial of this song all the way up to 10 with just the introduction.
8. Happiness by Red Velvet
Sometimes, you gotta be bold. Just rock the world! Booyah! That's how we feel about this song's introduction! "Happiness" by Red Velvet includes an infectiously happy beginning statement followed by a gorgeous tropical house inspired track showcasing great vocal ability from the girls.
9. I am the Best by 2NE1
"Naega jeil jal naga" and that horn is such an iconic song opening. You can hear why Microsoft used this song in their commercials.
