On February 12, the actress' agency made the announcement through an official statement, saying Kim Sa Rang, "departed from tvN's upcoming drama 'Mr. Sunshine' due to schedule conflicts."
Previous reports stated that Kim Sa Rang left due to health reasons, however, her agency cleared up the speculations, "There have been some miscommunications related to earlier reports. We apologize for not providing accurate information in a swift manner."
Meanwhile, other reports claim the true reason Kim Sa Rang stepped down from her role is that she wasn't satisfied with her screen time. In replacement, actress Kim Min Jung is in talks of taking the role. Her agency stated, "It is true Kim Min Jung has received a casting offer from 'Mr. Sunshine'. And is looking to meet with staff members tomorrow (February 13). Her role is being actively considered."
Set in the 1900s, tvN's 'Mr. Sunshine' is a melodrama starring Lee Byung Hun, Lee Tae Ri, and others and is slated to premiere this July.
